My sunny star croton was looking really rough. I repotted it and it looks like 2 stalks are dead and one of them is doing fine. Should I like pull out the dead ones or just leave them alone and let it do what it’s gonna do?

People have different camps on this. Some people think you should pull off anything dying right away and say it conserves energy or they say to leave it until it’s dry and crunchy because the plant can pull nutrients from the dying bits until it’s completely done. I tend to leave dying bits on until they are crunchy and the prune it back. Part of it I think depends on why those two stalks specifically are struggling. Is this 3 different plants in the pot? And do you know why those two aren’t doing so great?
1 likeI don’t really know- I just got them for Christmas so it could have been just the moving and adjusting. I’m quite sure I hadn’t overwatered it and i’m pretty sure it was getting enough sun. But I just reported it and it seems like it needed it. But hard to say because it was healthy and lovely when I got it just a few days ago.
