Can anyone tell me why my Hoya Compacta is not growing? I’ve had it for about 6-7 months and it’s only grown two small leaves. Never been repotted. Use to be in a South facing window with lots of sun, but now it’s near a West facing window in indirect sun. Just seems to not be growing at all.
Thanks for asking this! I got one a couple of months ago from a local nursery, and it hasn’t grown at all. Figured maybe bc it’s winter. But yours looks healthy as does mine!
I love them! I also have one that’s not verigated and it hasn’t grown either. Guess they’re just REALLY slow growers.

Compacta tends to be a slow grower so I’d recommend comparing pictures of your plant over a period of time, say every 3 or 4 months. Their new growth isn’t as obvious as other Hoyas. It’s also possible that the pot it’s in is a little too big. Many Hoyas put energy into growing roots first, then new leaves once its roots are well established. But I’d also check for mites just to be sure. You can only see them with a microscope or strong jeweler’s loop. Google “Hoya mites” for what to look for. Compacts are a great plant but those cute curly leaves can also harbor pests.

I have this plant and mine also sits in a west facing window. Mine grew a ton but I fertilize her often with….its gonna sound strange but she seems to love it….Miracle Grow Orchid Spray. I just spritz her every few weeks with it. she grew so much, she now needs repotted. Her roots are out and proud.
