Titania

I got this Cast Iron Plant a few months ago, and it’s been developing some stripes on its leaves, some of them stronger than others. The variegation doesn’t look to be as strong as the variegated variety, which I only recently found out about. I recently moved so it’s still adjusting, but I’m hoping this is just a new development? The stripes have been getting more pronounced than before.

Variegation is a mutation and so that’s why you can only produce more variegated plants from cuttings of an already variegated plant vs seeds of a plant. So it’s rare for a non variegated orig plant to become variegated after awhile but it can happen as that’s how variegated plants came to be and it is usually random chance.
