Triage 😂 If I got the plant from an unreliable store, I do things to make sure it won’t drop dead. Water bone dry plants in a big bowl so it can soak up as much water as it needs. On the flip side, if the plant was soaking wet at the store, I will repot if it’s hardy or do my best to aerate the soil if it might get shocked by a transplant
1 Likesuch good ideas, i do water them after they have gotten used to my room but i never thought of repotting, thats a good idea. does it ever shock the plants? repotting and a new location all at the same time

Yeah it’s not ideal to repot that soon but plants like ZZ plants with very thick roots/rhizomes can probably deal with transplant shock better than they could deal with sitting in wet soil for too long

I like to repot/replace soil, and water, wipe down the leaves, and quarantine if possible, I don’t have room and I haven’t ever suffered from it, but if you want to play it safe, quarantine.
