Does anyone keep plants in their basement? I live in Michigan and am trying to liven up my basement space. I have 10+ houseplants I keep upstairs and it improves the mood so much. The basement is just a bit drafty, and the windows let in some light- but not much. Would I just be setting the plant up for a quick death? Any thoughts or ideas that have worked?

Grow lights will help. Look into getting plants that will tolerate low light as well… Pothos and snake plant for example. Good luck 🌱😊

Pothos is a good option but they will still go leggy with low light but maybe if you sat them in the window with a grow light? I’d take a look at cast iron plants and zz plants. I’ve known folks that grow them with literally no windows and they’ve survived. A grow light never hurts also! Drafty is okay as long as it’s not getting below their acceptable temps.

Thank you both! I have a grow light I could definitely set up down there, now I know that the cooler temp won’t be a huge deal :)
