I’m certainly no expert but if there are no nodes on the stem then it’s pretty hard to propagate. Not impossible for non-node plants but certainly hardER. I don’t know enough about that particular plant but your experience is probably your answer.

I propagated a very similar raindrop peperomia leaf not long ago! At first, I put it in water, which is actually very difficult to do with no stem, but it did spout 2 tiny roots. Then I took it out and put it in soil instead. I just put a dab of reading hormone and rested it on top of MiracleGro cactus and succulent soil in a small plastic cup, kept it moist, but not wet, and it sprouted more roots actually fairly quickly.

I eventually stuck in 2 other leaves to try to prop them as well, but the one in front is the one with no stem. It’s grown 2 little sprout so far, but still doesn’t have an extensive root system yet.

The only time I’ve had success is by water propping first like mentioned above! Then I stuck it in soil that I kept damp. It looked like this after a couple weeks in soil

I only cut the leaf in half after the new growth started showing, I wanted the lil guy on the right to be able to see the light
