Quick question: how do I stop the plant from overflowing so much out of the pot and help it grow upwards, or is it supposed to do that (because it makes the pot fall over)?

your plant is in a crawling stage since it doesn’t have support. monstera deliciosa in the wild crawl across the jungle floor until they find a tree to climb. i’d suggest repotting and adding a trellis, plank, or pole. be sure that whatever support you add is on the back of the plant, since monstera have a “face” where the leaves grow and a “back” where the aerial roots grow— plantyann’s photo shows this well. i also agree it looks like it needs more light. monstera deliciosa, though often touted as a low light plant, actually prefers really bright light, such as in an east or west window. many people also have them growing in southern exposure

Yes it needs a repot, but until then (or if you want to use a larger nursery pot), put it in a cache pot too. All that means is a heavy pot with no drainage, that you put this plastic nursery pot inside of. Take it out to water it, then put back in cachepot. It will always be tippy in such a light plastic pot, as it needs the counterweight of a heavier base. Also, putting a plastic pot with drain holes like this directly on that wood surface will definitely damage the wood surface below.
