Thoughts on self watering potted plants? Is it helpful or do they overwater plants? Has anyone used them?

I love the self watering pots I use. Just wish I could afford more of them.

Can you use them for any plants or only plants that love a lot of water? I have a good amount of plants that are prone to overwater so that worries me

I use them for my Sansevieria’s. I make sure to use extra perlite, pumice, Leca and I don’t water until the outter vessel is dry. I’ve recently potted a string of hearts in one.

Yes 👍🏻 I agree, fine so long as that excess water doesn’t just sit there at the bottom forever. I’ve used a self watering pot on my stargazer Lillie’s I’d started indoors & they loved that pot. Just dump out excess 😁👍🏻

They’re great in my opinion. I used them for plants that like to be moist as well as plants that like to dry out in. If you just monitor the watering in between. They’re just kind of like long term bottom watering 😂

I wish I could afford to pot more of my plants in them. I love them.
