Hi everyone! I love lavender so much and I have been trying so hard to find a way to grow it inside. I bought a dwarf lavender plant online and even bought a grow light. It still died. Does anyone know how to do this? Is there a specific type that works better indoors?

My lavender topiary doesn’t seem to be loving being indoors either. It’s too cold in PA to leave it out.

I grew French Lavender in pots outdoors for 2 seasons. They thrived in cooler spring weather and started to suffer when temperatures warmed up and humidity increased. I live in a subtropical region, Zone 9. Online articles states they like a temperature range from 40s to the 60s (°F). My house is too warm to raise them indoors. They need at last 6 hours of full sun. So, a south or west window is better. You will need a grow light closer to the plants indoors. A light meter or equivalent app can tell the amount of lumens the plants get. The ones I had in standard Miracle Gro potting mix did not do well as the plants in a faster draining mix. There are several good articles online on this subject that were not available many years ago when I tried growing lavender in pots. They cover the dwarf varieties that are suitable to grow indoors. Search ‘How to grow lavender indoors.’
