In going on holiday near the end of January for just under three weeks, what do you guys do with your plants? This is the first time I would of been away for this long I have a Venus fly trap, good luck plant, silver inch, tradescantia and a cactus.

I huddle them close together to try and create a humid microclimate. Don’t leave them in direct sunlight, for they can burn, and make sure to generously water them before leaving. If you have a spare key and a willing friend, you can ask them to water your plants for you. Hope that helps!

I’ve left plants for 3 weeks. You do have to create a humid microclimate around the ones that can handle high humidity. I’m not sure about cactus in high humidity. I put the smallest plants together in a clear plastic bag after watering. I leave a very small opening for oxygen near the bottom. I used chopsticks to prevent the plastic from touching the leaves to prevent rot. The larger plants got their own bags. Mine were in a north facing window. So, they got the indirect light. Full sun can steam the plants. You can use self watering pots for the plants that can tolerate constant wet roots. You may lose some leaves. The plants should live. A humidity cabinet would be ideal. But, it’s more costly. I don’t know how you would feed the Venus fly trap. Good luck🍀🪴

For the VFT, I would set the pot in a dish of water, ideally enough for it to self water for 3 weeks. I’m not sure how big your pot is, so that could be difficult

You can always buy self watering systems in Amazon, or you can put them in the sink, fill it up about half an inch and make sure that the soil is not getting damp
