Good afternoon planty friends! So a friend gave me a large begonia cutting, and it’s started to root. My question is should I cut the bottom chunk off even though it has roots? My only concern is that when I move it to a pot eventually (of course when it’s ready) , will that big of a stalk get root rot?

I just love it so much already, so I’m a little concerned but it has been growing roots very quickly

That’s up to you but I don’t see any rot so I would leave it

Okay thanks! I’m kind of new to plants, and I wasn’t sure if once it’s in soil that the stalk would rot

Only if there were rot causing bacteria built up by overwatering!
