My fiddle leaf fig has been doing great until recently. A few weeks ago the bottom leaf turned yellow, then eventually died and fell off. Now the next bottom leaf is doing the same thing. Is there something wrong with the plant? I don’t see any signs of pests, and I don’t believe I am overwatering (I’ve had the plant for over two years since it was only a few inches tall and never overwatered). Is this a natural process of the plant? Possibly because it’s winter and not getting as much sun? Plant has been in same exact location for two years.

Hello, has it been in the same pot for over two years?

Plant is two years old. And has been in that spot for the duration.

It could be the oldest leaves dying off, that is common in plants; the older bottom leaves will yellow and die off. maybe try adding some fertilizer/plant food in when you water it next. Since it is winter and there’s not a lot of sunlight the fertilizer will help give it a boost. If you think it could be an invisible bug problem or the leaves are a little dusty, wiping the leaves with a neem oil solution once a week should help clear the leaves of dust and debris that naturally will collect and it doesn’t hurt the plant if there isn’t bugs or an issue with the plant!

If it has been in the same container for two years, it may need repotted into a larger planter. It looks like it’s outgrown its current planter.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I repotted it over the weekend. When I pulled it from its previous pot I could tell it was looking for more room. It’s in a fresh new pot with new soil. Hopefully that does the trick!
