Another house plant I’d recommend that can be easy as well are African Violets! The picture is to show the variation that they come in, but I bought those 2 days ago, I own 11 more and I love them! They love an east facing window but can do well in a south window as well as long as you keep an eye on the leaves in case they burn. I water mine about once a week maybe every 10 days depending on soil moisture. You can give it a little fertilize it once a week/every 2 weeks and they’ll love it even more and produce lots of flowers for you. They love to be messed with but from underneath the leaves. they don’t like the tops of their leaves touched so I’d recommend bottom watering or carefully watering on top. They are very sturdy plants that are beautiful and come in many different colors both leaves and flowers 🤩
