I’m thinking of getting a Venus fly trap. Does anyone know anything about the care or if there hard to take care of plants and if they like lots of sun?

I have tried several and not had much lucky. They are picky little guys.

i find them relatively easy to care for, others may have different opinions heres some general care info: carnivourus plants do in fact like a lot of sun! they cant tolerate any nutrients in their substrate or water, they get that from the insects they catch. i have my flytrap in sphagnum moss, and i keep it sitting in a few inches of distilled water. (you could use rainwater, too) they like humidity, but mine seems to do just fine without a humidifier try to avoid triggering the traps for no reason, it takes energy and causes that trap to die faster. each trap can close i think 3-4 times before dying off. if you havent already, i suggest you check out or join the carnivourus plant group on here! if you do decide to get one, here are some feeding tips: - outside they catch what they need - inside you will probably be better off feeding them every once in a while, i think monthly. - use live insects - feeding one trap is enough for the whole plant hope this helps, and good luck!!

They need a ton of sun! And personally I would wait till summer to get them as during winter they should be dormant and somewhere cold, easier that way.
