Dear All.. advice needed asap.. going out of town for a week. Gave all the kids a good watering so not worried about them being thirsty whilst I’m away but what should I do about lighting? I can leave the blinds open but the natural lighting is not enough. Should I leave the grow lights on? What’s worse, 6 days with minimal lighting or 6 days of 24 hours of light ?? TIA…

I put a timer on my grow lights year round.

This is similar to the timer I use. Waterproof so no worries of it getting wet. Kasa Outdoor Smart Plug, Smart Home Wi-Fi Outlet with 2 Sockets, IP64 Weather Resistance, Compatible with Alexa, Google Home & IFTTT, No Hub Required, ETL Certified(EP40), Black

I agree … put the lights on timers or buy some lights that come with one.

I too rely on my timers. If timers are not an option for you. Minimal light for 6 days should be fine. For me, straight on light for 6 days is the worst of the 2 options presented. Plants are resilient and will bounce back once you return. Good luck! Safe travels and happy holidays. 💚

If you can’t get a timer, use what natural like you have. Your plants will survive, and if you think of it, there are weeks of stormy weather out in nature sometimes! The bonus of minimal lighting is that the plants won’t dry out as fast while you’re away.
