They like full sun. Slowly move from bright light to full sun to help it acclimate. Keep away from heating vents and drafts. Fertilize with diluted fertilizer once a month in colder months. Let the soil dry out about an inch before watering.
3 likesI live in Chicago so there is no sun these days. Hope it doesn’t die☹️thanks so much for the comment I will definitely fertilize in a month.

So cute !!! Now I want one. The yellow leaves you're seeing could be a sign of stress. Make sure it gets plenty of bright, direct sunlight for at least 6 hours a day. Keep the temperature cool, ideally around 60-70F. Water your plant thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry, but be careful not to overwater. And don't forget to provide good air circulation and keep an eye out for pests. With some love and attention, so cute!🥺❤️
3 likesYes it’s so cute and I love roses. Trying to make sure it gets light but in Chicago these days no sunlight and I don’t have a south facing window either. What do you mean by good air circulation? How often should I water? In this app it says water in 27 days but I think it’s going get too dry please tell me how often I should water it and should I mist it in 2-3 days would it be helpful since the heating is on. Thanks so much for comment.
1 likeYou can’t blindly follow the app. Use it as a guide. Evelyn’s watering instruction is better. Roses get mildew and other fungal diseases very easily. Poor airflow in a room means the leaves will take longer to dry out increasing the chance of fungal infections. Rooms with stagnant air or damp bathrooms are not ideal for roses. You should avoid getting water on the leaves. So, no misting.

I live in the Chicago suburbs and was gifted a mini rose plant yesterday too! I do have a south facing window so I put her there. As you said we haven’t had many sunny days so I’ll watch her and see if I need to invest in a grow light. I’m hoping to keep her alive so I can plant her in an outdoor container in the spring and then overwinter her when it gets cold again. Good luck to you. Mine smells amazing!
