Help with my satin pothos? I repotted this guy a few weeks ago after it was suggested in this group. My pothos used to be huge but over time stopped taking water and its leaves would turn yellow and fall off. I downsized the pot and have watered it twice since repotting, I really thought it would make a comeback but leaves are still curled and still turning yellow. I even got a grow light and plant vitamins to help, but I’m not sure it is. Looking for any tips! Am still hoping this can acclimate but I don’t want to overwater if leaves are still turning yellow.

Scindapsus do not like repotting if their roots get touched. At this point, I would just prop and wait.

Aside from being shocked from being repotted, yellowing leaves and curling can be related to watering issues. I would trim off the yellow leaves and stick your finger in the soil to see if it’s dry or not. When I water my Scindapus, I usually do it between once a week or once every two weeks, depending on the soil. I let the water drain into the sink and I also use room temp distilled water as well. I agree with the other comments too, maybe propagate with a few cuttings.

Wouldn’t recommend repotting it again, but generally unless it’s a very thirsty plant, I wouldn’t put it in a terra-cotta pot because it holds water

Thanks! I think it came down to a few moves in under a year, and one month without water which was unfortunate. This was all last year and it’s barely been able to hold a trickle of water without it spilling out the bottom since. I may just have to get a new one 🥲

But also, I thought the terra-cotta absorbed water from the plant so it was good to make sure the plant was thoroughly dried out between watering.

They are thirsty plants, leaves curl when they’re not getting enough.. I call it fainting 😂

The plant looks very dry based on the curling leaves, wrinkled stem and yellowing leaves. The soil may drain too fast or the watering may be too little to support both the plant and the terracotta pot. You can keep it in terracotta if you bottom water long enough to soak the pot and the plant as suggested above. Terracotta is ideal for cacti and succulents. It can pull too much water from foliage plants. I recommend trimming most of the vines back closer to the pot and propagating the cuttings as suggested above. The plant is struggling already. Cutting will give it a better chance. I had to trim my scindapsus and syngonium three kings. They propagated very well as shown in the picture. I used SuperThrive plant vitamins to boost the roots. Fertilize the base plant. Good luck. 🍀
