It may have strangled or injured itself while it was unfurling! I think it just happens sometimes, but I don’t think any of my plants have done that.

this is actually super common (i’ve seen several posts), it’s caused by a lack of nutrients. monstera appreciate low dose fertilizer with every watering, and if you haven’t fertilized in a while new growth will die off

I just bought this plant and I know it’s ready for fertilizer but I’m so nervous to fertilize because recently I fertilized some of my plans and they turned yellow

what fertilizer are you using? was the soil appropriately dry on the plants you fertilized beforehand? yellow leaves are often caused by overwatering

I got this one from Home Depot. My app says it’s time for fertilizer but I’m so nervous, help me plant father.🥴🤍🌱

as long as the soil on your monstera is mostly dry there should be no issues giving it some water and fertilizer. i’m pretty sure miracle gro is a chemical fertilizer so it’s always best to use less than recommended. i’d go for about 1/8 of what it says on the packaging
