I just came from a plant swap and there was a table with free plants, so of course I snatched one. But on my way home I realized there’s little thingies swimming in the water of this propagation. Not sure if you can see in the pictures, but what are these??? Are they very harmful? How do I get rid of them if they are (other than dumbing out the water)

Not sure what they are, but I’d dump out the water and spray the plant down with neem oil if you have any. Diluted 3% hydrogen peroxide would also work.

And keep it isolated from all your other plants 🌱

It’s mosquito larvae if they move like crazy slinkies!😄 Mosquitoes found the propagation container. I get those in summer when mosquitoes get inside the house. Just rinse off the roots and container. Refill with clean water. No further chemicals required since the water was infested elsewhere.
