Why would this spider plants’ leaves be folding? Does it need to be repotted? It’s been happy until now 🤷♀️. It is in a pretty small container. My other spiders are very happy in their slightly larger pots. Thanks in advance!!

Hello. I am not telling you to not get the Groot planter. I am letting you know they can be smaller than you think. I have 3 Groot’s also and either the plants out grow the pots quickly or they die quickly. I have not found a third option. First I tried African Violets. Only 1 out of 6 liked the pot. Next I tried Pathos. Quickly it out grew the pot. I’ve tried succulents, like an echeveria, but they are difficult as it is in Philadelphia. Believe it or not red dragon branches seem to be ok with the pots for me. John

Yeah I’d check the roots. My mother got have outgrown the pot. Which is too bad because it’s super cute 🥰. Maybe try to separate it so you can still keep a piece in the planter.

My happy momma has a few babies I can put another one in Groot 🥰
1 likeFolded leaves indicate a drying plant and/or low humidity. It’s probably pot bound which is typical for thick root spider plants. It’s time to repot since it’s affecting the plant’s ability to intake water. The other option is to water more often to meet the needs of the plant. I’m at this stage with several of my spider plants. I don’t won’t to keep repotting. I water them more frequently so the leaf tips don’t dry out.

Love your plants and the cute planter 😄
1 likeThank you. These are both Bonnie curly spider plants. I like the sizes since they fit on the kitchen window. It’s convenient because I have to water about every 4 days. The soil is practically useless. I have to fertilize with Miracle Gro blue fertilizer. I add very diluted SuperThrive plant vitamins once a month. This seems to help them keep their color. The little one is in a 2 inch pot. It put out 2 tiny spider babies!
