Stupid question but what’s the difference between full and partial light? I’m a new plant owner, The internet doesn’t seem to have a clear answer and I’m worried I’m leaving my plants in too much light. We currently have them on a windowsill facing east. Should I lower the blind to make it less direct? Or is this okay? Any help would be appreciated!!

very good question, not stupid at all! full or direct light would be the plant being able to see the sun, and the sun can see the plant. partial light, also called bright indirect light, would be the plant being able to see the light, but the sun cannot see the plant. (i got this example from Plants With Krystal on youtube) i think your east facing window will be ok! plants that like partial light often enjoy the more gentle morning rays, but will burn with the harsher afternoon sunlight, so i wouldnt worry :)

I’m in zone 9. My plants are on a north facing covered patio and are positioned to get early morning sun (before 9am) and late afternoon sun (after 6pm). I learned the hard way that my plants burn between 9am and 6pm in direct sunlight in summer. So, not all eastern sunlight is good. All western sunlight is not bad. It depends on where you are, time of year, and the time of day.
