My husband just got me this beautiful orchid, but I know nothing about how to care for them! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I also thought these plants were toxic to pets, but on here it states non toxic. Is that true? Thanks in advance

I soak my orchids in water for 30 minutes, then drain every 14 days. When the bloom dies, cut the stem back to the green part on the stem and they will rebloom. Should bloom 2-3 times a year. Healthy roots look silvery green.
3 Likesas far as I know, they aren’t toxic. this may only be for cats and humans still unsure but it’s most likely fine

Do any of you do the ice cube method? And should I repot?

NO and NO! ice cubes are too cold and are known to kill orchids, and it does not need a repot, you just got it and it needs to acclimate first. if it needs a repot you can do so after 2 or 3 weeks in your home so that it’s not so many changes at once.
