Hi! So I ordered this Nanouk from Succulent Depot and it arrived pretty much like this, the picture in the tagged plant is the day I got her. I got her last Wednesday, and I know it should take time for her to bounce back, but I’m just not sure weather she 100% will. I do see the little baby leafs trying to grow though. I’m new to caring for plants so I don’t know. Should I cut off those leaves that are shriveled and dead looking? Should I just leave her be and be patient (I picked the wrong hobby honestly cause I don’t have much patience when I start new things 😄) Also she is in cactus/succulent soil which is supposed to be well draining but the soil is still really moist/wet feeling. Any other plant I got and repotted with the same soil is not as wet. Does it have something to do with the pot she is in? There’s a drainage hole at the bottom. Just scared of root rot cause I know with any plant that is a one way ticket to plant heaven.

I would say repot her! Sooner than later because succulents need dry soil :) that should help after that. When it’s in the dry soil give it time to acclimate 💕

It’ll bounce back. Mine started as a baby too. Two sprouts. I assumed it was going to die and look at her now. I water about every week and half. Fertilizer is once a month. Mine is a lilac. Same species.

I have one of these, and I learned that it loves the sun and hates being rootbound

Tradescantias are tough plants considered very invasive weeds in several states! It should be fine since you have new growth that has not died. Place it in full sun. It can take high and freezing temperatures. I recommend adding rooting hormone powder to speed the growth of roots. You really don’t need it for this type of plant. But, it might end your worries sooner.😁 Better to slightly underwater than overwater with this plant. Good luck 🍀

Mine is growing like a weed. Definitely give her more sun! Also whenever it’s time to repot, no need for a cactus mix, but I would add some perlite and orchid bark to regular potting soil. I make my own soil and it’s super easy and very cost effective.
