I was just wondering if I can give african violet fertilizer to monsteras, or other plants, I usually have some of it left over after watering my african violet and i dont wanna waste it…

I believe so. Are your violets doing well not in self watering pots?

ok… it gets really wilted but after watering it bounces right back, how would i set up a self watering pot? Assuming that would help with the droopy leaves.

You just put water in the bottom and out the top in. Literally all you do. It waters itself. I also use water from fridge (not cold). I fertilize every other time. You put the fertilizer in the water it does it own thing.

But I only put water in when it needs water or is there always water and it only absorbs the water when needed?

The second one. There’s always water in it and it absorbs when needed. I also wipe the inside of the bowl out where the water goes just because it gets slimy. And then refill with fresh water after. The telling sign it’s low on water is top soil will be dry.

First one is what she is talking about.
0 Likes8-14-9 is what you have. Each number represents the amount of that element in the fertilizer. Usually for Monstera and other plants grown for their foliage, you want the first number (N) to be the highest. While this one you have for African violets has a higher P to promote blooming, I’m guessing. There’s technically nothing wrong with giving this to your monstera though! I’d use it if that’s what I had and didn’t want to spend the money on more fertilizer
