Hi all, I realize temperatures are dropping and I’ll need to bring in my plants soon so I’m looking for some advice. Note that I have mostly succulents. I used to have my plants indoors on a large window sill but when we moved I finally had a patio to put them on — which was great, because my window sills are not big enough at this new house to set my plants on. But because of that, I’m not sure where to put them once I bring them indoors. I have cats and I don’t want them to eat them because many are toxic, so I can’t have them just on a table near a window. Any ideas on how to set my plants up indoors with these constraints in mind??

I have issues too being in a townhouse. I have some hanging. I want to make some wood shelves to hang in the dining room which gets South lighting. I don’t have E or W windows. I don’t have room on the ground to put a stand as the window is beside an island and then it’s a glass door. I have 4 small ones on the window sill but then a chair there to block the dog from knocking them over in her excitement of seeing people outside.

The popular ikea cabinet conversion keeps the cats out. You will need to add lights and seal with silicone caulk to keep humidity levels higher.

It probably won’t need to be sealed as succulents don’t like high humidity

There are a ton of different styles of grow lights on Amazon, I use full spectrum. There are stand lights and also lights that can go under a shelf. There are also a ton of cheap plant shelves on amazon too! These ones can be zip tied or hung with sticky tape.
