Hey. I’m in South Jersey and I don’t do Facebook. Does anyone know of any plant groups/swaps by any chance? I’ve got quite a few plants that I’d love to pass on that I have multiples of or that I’m not in love with anymore. I’m not interested in the fiasco of selling or shipping. Just want them to go to a loving home. I’m so maxed out on space and I want to be free to buy more😁

I feel this. I always have spider plants to give away. And sometimes goldfish plants. I just need to find them home’s because I can’t bear to throw them away.

For real! I just can’t throw plants away. That seems crazy.

Typically a plant swap is gonna include shipping to someone.. hop on fb marketplace and post pics of them free- and front door pu or public meet, you’ll clear them out quick! If you don’t wanna get on fb, there’s also local Craigslist ads. Post them therešŸ˜‰ or a local paper. Hope this helps!

Ok thanks. Maybe I’ll go old school with the local paper.

Craigslist, for sure. If you want, just have people Venmo and then be conveniently busy as to not interact with anyone lol. I don’t sell anything this way, but most of my local purchases went like this. And yes, throwing them away is a gut-wrenching dilemma, one I *had* to do several months ago. I feel like a villain admitting it, regardless of how raggedy some of them were. The friends of mine who begrudgingly offered to take some said ā€œI’m just worried I’m going to kill it.ā€ Thanks for that, friends haha.

I will say that I hate Facebook the most of any social platform, but it is a plant Mecca.

Nextdoor? It’s like FB for your specific neighborhood. Also ā€œbuy nothingā€ apps, people giving away stuff in your local area.
