So I have had this plant for almost a week. I was given the plant in a big pot with an aloe and a few Christmas cacti pieces as a gift. The soil was very very dry, so dry it was crumbling to the touch. I repotted as you can see. After I repotted, on Sunday, I gave it a good drink. The two leaves closest to the base are curling and I can’t figure out why. The left leaf closest to the base has a really bad brown spot that was already there, plus its stem is starting to yellow. Do you guys know why the two leaves are curling? All other leaves seem healthy. Not visible in the picture, but there is new growth.

There could be several things affecting it including repotting that caused temporary stress, drying out too much before you got it and getting a big drink of water. Give it a week to settle down. Keep it in bright indirect light away from drafts. You might lose some leaves. That’s normal. Let the top soil dry out an inch before watering again. Clay pots pull water from the soil. You have to water both the pot and the soil when using clay pots. You can work a little rooting hormone powder into the soil to help it build roots.

Thank you! The roots actually were really extensive when I saw them last. I’ll just give it more time and see what happens.
