Does she look okay? I bought her two days ago and I’ve never owned a prayer plant before, I’ve heard they’re very hard to keep alive so just trying to do my research! I know they naturally droop throughout the day but I’m not sure how to tell the difference between normal ā€œnot prayingā€ vs dying! She is moist but not soggy and I am trying not to overwater her. I know prayers need high humidity which I don’t have in my home so every now and then I will keep her in my bathroom for a few hours when I have a bath so she can take in some moisture between watering

Does she still raise up in the evenings?

I haven’t noticed yet but I’ve only had her for 2 days so I need to look out for it!

Take another comparison photo in the later evening and do a side by side. That should give you some insight.

I see a gorgeous new leaf about to unfurl! I have one and it’s pretty small. I got it in Spring and only have one new leaf. But overall it’s fine.

I’m so excited for the new leaf! Her leaves feel very tough if I gently try to move them so I’m hoping that’s an indication that she’s okay

She look great! No crispy edges and a new leaf. They are very resilient so don’t worry. Even if you lose some leaves as she acclimates to your environment she’ll bounce. Don’t worry

Phew thank you!! I slightly tried to bend some of her stems to see if she felt weak and I felt some strong resilience so I’m hoping she’s good! I’m gonna watch out for praying tonight. I haven’t seen it yet so I think it might actually move me to tears if I see her pray šŸ˜‚

I had no idea this plant actually did that in the evenings! How cool! I’m gonna have to have one as well.

Yes they’re gorgeous! The name prayer plant comes from the way they raise up as if they’re praying. They’re beautiful šŸ’—
