Why is my Chinese evergreen drooping? I place it in my window during the day so it gets enough sunlight but it’s seemed to have lost its pep. No yellowing leaves or any change in color. Thoughts?

If it’s from a big box store, it might have a “death plug” under the soil. Both of my Chinese evergreens from Lowes had a plastic cage around the roots. I had no idea until I eventually repotted. But my plants were soooo much happier after I removed them

Omg what is the purpose of a death plug?!

I think they use it at the growing nursery so they can have huge trays of hundreds of baby plants that aren’t in full pots and just spray them down all at once to water. But it’s really scammy to not take them off before potting the grown plants because they stunt the plant growth and can eventually strangle the roots

I found the web of death on three plants including my expensive alocasias! I get angry every time I think about it.

That’s crazy! It’s already repotted and no death plugs here. I have no idea why she’s gotten so droopy :(
