Use a wooden chopstick to check the soil of ur plants. If there’s any soil on the chopstick or moisture is absorbed my the chopstick then it isn’t dry

Your advice on using a chopstick has helped me so much. I had to find you comment to let you know!

My soil seems to take forever to dry out! Even over the summer, I was watering much less than the app advised.

Mine does to, even though I recently changed the soil. The app isn't always right when it comes to watering, I just use it more as a reminder to check if they need watering. I'm going to try spraying my succulents when they need watering so the bottom of the soil stays dry since they don't have roots down there and with my normal plants I'm going to bottom water so the top stays dry since they don't have roots there. I'm trying this because then hopefully they will dry out quicker since I'm not wetting all of the soil, for instance if the pot is 6 inches tall and I water from the top till it comes out the bottom all 6 inches are wet, but if I water from the bottom the top 2 inches will stay dry so only 4 inches needs to dry out. But plants that like to stay a little moist I will make sure they don't fully dry out.

I would be careful when spraying your succulents, as they don’t like their leaves/body to be wet. Otherwise, sounds like a good experiment!
