My umbrella tree is not doing too well. It’s leaves are browning and dropping. I have checked the soil and it seems to be pretty dry after the last water. It was pretty far from the window a few days ago but I have just moved it to window side. How long before I should see any improvement?

If everything is fine with the roots, soil and lightning and it has proper drainage (holes in the bottom?!) you should hopefully see some improvements in a few weeks or so🤗

I don’t have any drainage holes but the shop I buy my plants from recommended I use river rocks at the bottom

For some plants a layer of rocks isn’t enough, and it’s always safer to have holes

Agreed, these guys are super sensitive until established as well. I’d recommend watering thoroughly when the top inch of soil is dry. Try fertilizing with kelp/seaweed the first time and any time your plant has gone through stress. This helps them rebound like you wouldn’t believe!
