Does anyone have tips or tricks on how to maintain plant over the course of fall and winter? Like watering, room temperature, etc.

Cooler weather means growth will slow for most plants. Verify the plants need water and water less. Reduce or stop using fertilizers until spring based on the plant. Cold drafts can shock warm weather plants. Keep them from entrance doors and drafty windows. Add grow lights over plants in dark areas. Heaters can dry both humans and plants. Keep humidity in check. Add humidifiers if needed.

I like to rotate my plants a bit in fall/spring to take the most advantage of the changing light conditions and humidity. My snake plants (I have a ton) can tolerate low humidity so I move them to spots in my home that tend to have drier air. My humidity-loving plants I try to keep around my kitchen where it’s naturally more humid, and I also run a humidifier there during the day. Also note that the sun slightly changes its arc leading into fall and spring. For example, I used to get decent evening sun from a north-ish facing window for the last couple months if I placed a plant in a specific spot beside the window, but now that sunlight is gone. So basically, now it’s a good time to take note of the changing light and humidity conditions in your home, and maybe evaluate your plant placement a bit, or get grow lights and humidifiers to help maintain consistent conditions.
