Was planning on buying a majestic palm tree tomorrow from Lowe’s. Any tips & tricks I should know? I’ve been told they’re a rather harder plant to take care of but I’m itching for a new plant 🤣. How long should I quarantine it before putting it by my other plants? How could I check to make sure there’s no pests on it while I’m in the store? Etc. Thanks y’all!! 😁 Update: I bought a moon cactus instead because all of the majestic palms & the monsteras around them were INFESTED with spider mites to the point that they had actual webs on them 🤦🏻‍♀️. But the picture is my new moon cactus 🥰, she’s adorbs.

That Lowe’s plants do? Or just the majestic palm?

Specifically the majestic palm :) you can use an insecticidal soap on all of the leaves and try to quarantine it

Totally get that itch 😅 I would recommend a week or two of quarantine, checking the leaves daily. In the store: check as many leaves as possible for anything that moves or marks 🤗

Hello! Honestly, I wouldn’t waste my time with a majesty palm, especially indoors. If you do some quick internet searching or look at YouTube, it’s filled with warnings. They are beautiful, so I understand the desire to grab one. If you decide to bring it home, lots of light and go ahead and treat it for spider mites, even if you don’t see any. Keep it away from all other plants for a few weeks and never stop looking for signs of mites. Good luck!

Love the cactus! I just bought a majestic palm on a whim from Lowe’s a couple of weeks ago and thankfully haven’t run into any pests but I’m super new to plants so it may end badly for me 😂🤷‍♀️
