What is this stuff growing in the dirt? Mold? I have it in multiple plants. How do I get rid of it?

It may be mold and I only say that because the planting medium looks pretty dense. I recommend repotting to a chunky mix of coco chips, pine bark, coco peat, perlite and pumice (optional).

I had just watered it before I took this pic but this is regular potting soil. Too dense for pothos?

it could also be mineral build up. do you water with tap? the plants can’t absorb the minerals in city water. i’d also water once a month with jug water from the store

definitely mold, mineral build up appears as a very thin crust of white over the soil. it appears the soil is staying wet for too long, consider changing the soil to something with more drainage material (“chunks” like pumice, perlite, and orchid bark) once the soil dries this time. for now i’d recommend spraying a bit of hydrogen peroxide on top to control the spores
