Hi plant friends, I recently repotted my large white bird of paradise. It’s been curled up and the lower parts of the plant are prune-y. The leaves are leaning instead of standing up stiffly. I just gave it a big drink of water (I have been barely watering it because I’ve been plagued by fungus gnats in the past…). Hopefully the water makes it bounce back. Any other tips? 🪴💚

Show a picture of the entire plant and some of the leaf damage. It’s difficult to comment without seeing the plant. Many things can affect the health of a plant.

I can’t see the details on a yellow leaf to say confidently the cause. Looks like overwatering and/or insects. Let it dry out somewhat between watering. Check above and below the leaves for thrips, spider mites, mealy bugs, and others. Fungus gnats love damp top soil. So, better to under water than over water. Spray with a soapy water spray or neem oil each week until the insects are gone.

Treat nearby plants as well as the floor and under the pots.
