Hi can anyone tell me if its ok to put a heartleaf philodendron in just water?

    I rooted mine in water but then I potted it in soil.

    Yes you can! They root very well in water!

    If you want to keep them in water you just have to make sure to fertilize more often than you would in soil, there are many YouTube videos on the subject and I recommend they are very interesting
