Morning! I got this snake plant 3 years ago as a house warming gift. I reported once after I got it. (It’s the pot that has holes) however I think it holds water. I’ve noticed some leaves turn yellow. I just watered it a couple days ago. Should i repot in a smaller pot? I feel like this one may be too big.

I’m just wondering if I would do more damage by repotting again.

Hi there. Repotparalysis. I have that PTSD affliction also. The image is of my former stellar healthy snake-plant (yellow green edges.) I saw this pot that was a discounted as they were trying to bring get rid of 2022 inventory. The pot is a terra cotta pot with holes. And the persons who made the pot use it for snake-plants too. I repotted into this pot and snake began to look sick. Soil not drying out either. Repotparalysis then set in. Do I? Don’t I? I decided to throw a lot of perilite into the pot and mix it in without having to dig them up. Then I let it sit for 2 months to dry out. To alleviate my concern the pot as too big (it isn’t and neither is yours) I purchased the single tall darker green snake-plant and placed him into the pot with the original one I had. Ive been following a watering schedule again and we are on the mends. (Hopefully) So add more perlite, let it dry out, and if you think it’s too big then you have an excuse to buy a plant. Roommate: What’s that? Me: A new plant. Roommate: Dude you have a serious plant buying problem. Thought you said you weren’t going to buy more. Me: This is no ordinary plant. This is a medicinal plant. I need it to make the other plant feel better by drinking up excess water. Totally different than a new plant. Roommate: Oh ok. And the other bag. I’m guessing that’s medicinal Vodka too. Me: Noooo. That’s for the Vodka Pasta Gravy. The Tequilla is for medicinal use.

Love it! Thank you so much for the guidance and personal story. Off to buy perlite!
