Hey Y’all, I just got two new plants for a birthday gift and the store didn’t identify them at all. Planta’s identification feels off. Here they are

Cute plants. The red one is a prayer plant, Calathea Roseopicta, commonly known as Rose Calathea. The green one is either an N’joy or Pearls and Jade pothos. I believe it’s a Pearls and Jade because of the green specks in the white areas.

Awesome. Thank you so much. As it mature does the n’joy and pearls and jade pathos start to look different?

Both types keep their markings. Look at the pictures in the comments below. Your pothos should stay cute!šŸ˜† Both plants like bright indirect light. The pothos is more tolerant of low light. I would put it in a 4 inch pot. I start my cuttings in a 4 inch pot to give it room to grow roots without changing pots too often. I would move it to a 6 inch once it doubled in size or the roots are coming out the bottom. Use a standard well draining potting mix. I’m can’t keep prayer plants alive. 😁 I can tell you they are dramatic. They dislike tap water. They don’t like to move from their happy place. They will droop, close up shop (roll leaves) and show dry leaf tips if you miss their watering time. Many planta people successfully raise them. So, ask questions as soon as something happens. Good luckšŸ€

Thanks so much for all this information. Very helpful. I have another calathea and they have been sooo dramatic. No idea what it’s doing half the time.

Is the original posters pothos not a snow queen? I have confused my self now. I have an N’Joy, pearls and jade, and a snow queen but I frequently feel mixed up on which is which
