Hi, I’m new here, My son received this umbrella plant from his sister as a graduation gift. She’d given him one when he was in 8th grade, we left it too close to a window during a freeze last year and it didn’t survive, so this is sentimental -and we need help!! He’s been careful with watering- it sits about 3-4 feet in front of a window….from the photos, can anyone tell us what it needs? How can we make this one a thriving success story?

I would recommend repotting to freshen up the soil and lots of sun light!

Or if you are very worried that it will stress the plant out, you can take a little cup or scoop of soil from the pot and replace it with new! It helps reduce stress for my plants that are very picky.

Not sure where you are located but mine has thrived outside on an east facing covered porch. When I bring it indoors soon I will put it in a room with a south facing window. I’ve been following the fertilizer guidelines on planta and it has had so much growth this season.
