I am relatively new to plants and I am wondering if anyone has any fertilizer recommendations. I have many different types of plants, is there one that works for all/many types of plants or do I need to but separate ones?

You don’t *need* separate ones but some are balanced differently and are marketed for different purposes. Like foliage pro has a higher nitrogen content so that plants grown for their foliage will grow larger leaves. There are other fertilizers for plants grown for their blooms. I recommend liqui-dirt for an organic option and foliage pro because it’s amazing. But honestly anything you choose will be great because your plants need food!
1 likeMost plants can take the blue Miracle Gro granules mixed in water and diluted 50 percent. Timed release fertilizers are less of a hassle like Osmocote. Growers typically ship plants with blue fertilizer beads in the soil. Plants that like acidic soil (tomatoes, roses, evergreens, citrus and azaleas) have acidic based fertilizers made for that type. The growing season is the best time to fertilize. Reduce or stop fertilizing in the colder months. Good luck. 🍀

I just use compost mixed with soil to start (usually) and if they have old leaves, I pull them and set them in top of the soil. I don’t bother because it’ll eventually recycle itself, even if it takes a while
