Hello everyone! Does anyone have any advice regarding my Syngonium Albo plant, it won’t stop giving me white leaves which I’ve now cut off. Since I’ve had it, it’s given me 5 all white leaves. I can see a little one growing which I am hoping will have green/white leaf. But each time I see a new growth its always an all white leaf 🥹

I’d say don’t cut off the white leaves next time. I’m assuming it will realize how difficult it is to conduct photosynthesis with white leaves and respond.

Thank you for the advice! I will make sure to not cut the white leaves next time, should I just let it dry out next time?

That’s what I would do. Or let them at least fall off by themselves.

Also, I just read that sometimes more sun = more white leaves.

Okay thank you for the advice! I’ve put it in a more dimly lit area now, so I guess I just have to hope for the best 😅😊

Do you dislike the white leaf color? Is that why you keep cutting them?

I read somewhere that the white leaves don’t produce any Chlorophyll so that it doesn’t do much for the plant. I might be wrong? If that wasn’t the case then I would definitely keep them as they are so beautiful!

There are all white leaves plants that live just fine in nature like Dusty Miller. It’s better to let nature take its course unless the plant is in distress for some reason. Continually cutting back new leaves is stunting it’s growth leaving it to rely on one leaf for survival. I recommend you let it naturally grow. Put it in soil to give it a boost so it can put out more vines. It needs high humidity, bright indirect light and warm temperatures. Lightly fertilize in the cooler months. Also, I will gladly trade your all white Albo for one of mine if it continues to only produce white leaves. I collect syngoniums. I have many varieties. 😄

Ohhh! I feel so bad for keeping on cutting it back now 🥲 thank you so much for your advice! I will make sure to just let it be from now on and repot it in soil 😊🌿
