This may be a silly question, but can aerial roots/ nodes be treated as the same?? I know they are different, but can water roots grow from aerial roots if put in water to propagate??? :)

Yes, aerial roots can become in ground roots when it finds soil or water. Aerial roots structurally support climbing/running plants. They seek water/soil for the plant. They tap into soil like vines and ground covers. The aerial roots’ new growth under the soil/water will look like in ground roots.

Thank you so much for the info!!! Totally makes sense, just never knew 100% because I stick both aerial roots and nodes in water when propagating!

Sometimes the aerial roots look the same and don’t quickly change and new roots grow separately.
