Is it possible that a plant comes in too big of a pot for its size roots?? I bought an Ivy a few months ago in a 4 in pot but her soil took forever to dry and it developed brown edges. I took it out and the plant barely has roots? Like they’re so tiny! I put it in a 2 in pot, so I hope that’s the right move

It happens when the seller rushes the plant to a larger pot to get a higher selling price. Downgrading to a smaller pot is the right move or the roots could struggle in water logged soil.

Ugh that’s awful! I’m glad I listened to my instincts then. Thank you!

I had the same thing happen to my gold Ivy so I’m keeping it in a 2 inch for the rest of the year. I thought I was hurting it taking it out, but it’s thriving more now.
