How do people feel about giving plants as gifts? Should we know that someone is into plants before considering gifting? Otherwise, is it just putting pressure on the recipient to care for something? Or is a lovely, low-maintenance plant a great gift?
Hm I suppose it depends on the person. So far Iāve only gifted plants to people that are already into plants and have mentioned wanting a specific one. Iāve heard people like orchids as gifts because theyāre like a bouquet that lasts longer. Then they feel like they can toss it when the flowers die or keep it if they feel up to the challenge of getting it to bloom again
1 Like Iām propagating some jade cuttings and thought they might make good Xmas gifts, as they are relatively easy to care for. But I donāt want to put pressure on anyone š

I gifted plants to ppl who have never owned one w a little cheat sheet on instructions for care. And let them knw one of the fun parts is picking a decorative pot that speaks to u (or at least thatās how I go about my pots lol) also, I like to gift them in clear nursery pots. Itās fun watching the roots grow and it will help them w watering by the look of the soil āŗļø
