My long loved pothos that was attacked by mealys, and I’ve been trying to salvage, is continuing to go downhill🥺 Is there any chance any of it will survive, or should I prepare to let it go??😢💔

Take some “insurance cuttings” from a healthy area and start propagating them in water. If you do lose the mother plant, you’ve got a back up. Good luck!

Thank you!!! I thought I had salvaged so much of it but alas, it was not enough🥺

If it’s bug free now, you should be good. But cutting and propagating is definitely a good idea!

Your cuttings are too long and the small amount of roots can’t sustain all those leaves. Be brave and cut those long vines into segments 6 inches or less! Leave at least two nodes on each cutting. Three nodes would be better to get more roots. Put them in water leaving one node above water. Remove all leaves below water to prevent rot. Change the water weekly or sooner if dirty. Move to soil when roots are at least 2 inches long. Use rooting hormone powder to boost the roots. Put several cuttings in a 6 inch pot to get a bushier plant.

Thank you so much for this detailed answer!!! That totally makes sense why they were once able to be so long and now they are struggling!
