What to do. I have been posting often. As of this spring I am a new plant parent to houseplants and also doubled down with an outdoor greenhouse so everything about house plants and greenhouses is a learning curve for me. Thanks for all of the very helpful suggestions and responses. All of which have been spot on.

So should I cut the dead part. It’s dripping water. Is it actually crying in pain. 🫣

so not sure if you mean that little black tip on your new growth but I read that that could be a sign that the plant went dry for a little too long or the humidity might be too low. It also might be that there is a nutrient deficiency. do you use any fertilizer? I can’t tell what type of plant it is from this little photo to help with anything else but if you tell me what it is, I can certainly help more, if I can! and congrats on being a new plant parent 🌱🪴💚

Thanks for responding. The plant is a Philodendron Hastatum. I don’t know what to do with the black tip. It originally was a leaf that didn’t open, turned black and fell off. Because the soil had been very wet from setting the plant out in the rain. I’ve since been letting the soil dry out but I just don’t know if I should cut off the black dead part. Or why it’s still dripping from the black part. This has been happening for about a month.
