Hello everyone, I got my three mixed Echeverias at the same time (around two months ago) and they were doing great. The middle one started blooming right after I got them and since then it started losing every leaf under the blooms. Are they trying to kill my plant? Should I cut them off and let the plant recover? They’re not overwatered, as you can see the other two are thriving! Any suggestions will be of great help! Thank you!

It needs more light. The other 2 echeverias are more delicate, but the one in the middle looks like a black prince and it requieres more direct sunlight…that’s my guess

Unfortunately I can’t do much about the light. They’re on the window sill of my second floor nyc apartment so they get as much light as they can with tall buildings around. What do you think about the blooms? The other two keep getting new leaves so I think they’re doing ok.

I’d recommend a grow light then. It’s because it’s darker that it needs more light than the other two

You can cut the blooms and try propagating them, if they are making you nervous. They a typically not harmful to the plant, but a lot of energy does go into producing them, so if you cut them off your plant will have more energy to grow

Seconded. Not exactly harmful per se but they do use a lot of energy which can be taxing if he’s already struggling to get enough light. Just FYI I order grow bulbs with natural-looking white light (not red like some) from Amazon that I plug into regular light fixtures so adding grow bulbs doesn’t need to make your space look like a terrarium.
