hi! i thought it would be fun to know how we all got into plants ! for me : i’d occasionally garden with my mom when i was younger. but this summer we really got into perennials and annuals🌺🌷 i eventually somehow got into house plants! , pretty much how my succulent addiction started ahah. throughout this time i’ve loved learning about plants and how to properly care for them, also love being able to share my interest with this community!💚

yk that renee rapp interview where the interviewer is like, ‘your mind works in fascinating ways’ and she’s like. ‘AdHd! ADhD!’ yeah… i love trees and moss and hiking and ecology, but got into indoor plants after going down a dopamine rabbit hole that ended with me writing a research essay on how even small patches of green affect urban health in my english class… now i own thirty ish plants and just bought more today 🫶

The pandemic! I always had a few easy type of plants, pothos, succulents, etc. Then when things shifted for everyone in 2020, I wanted an oasis at home if I was gonna be there all the time.

my old building manager gave each unit a random succulent for earth day a couple years ago. it surprised me how much i liked seeing the progress stevie made, when i had this previous impression that succulents were "boring" plants lol. i love them now and there are so many cool ones to keep discovering

my best friend got me a pink nerve plant when I first graduated college. i grabbed a few plants here and there but my love for plants really started once i got my own place. i began decorating the entire space with plants and fell in love with the hobby!!

Got a philo a few years ago, it died but I propagated before it did and it’s doing good but not perfect lol. I needed a new hobby and noticed how inexpensive some plants are, also I took a field biology class in high school- the first outing we did was to a small prairie near by by foot and learned different kinds of grass and parts of them :) also my grandma always had me water her hydrangeas when I was over- she puts a fertilizer in the water to make the blossoms blue :)
