My Alocasia has one leaf left and it’s dead. I’ve examined the roots and they’re healthy. Is it okay to chop off the last leaf? Will the plant grow again? Or is it done for? Just put it in perlite with nutrients a few days ago.

No clue. Mine did that and then I found she had left me two baby bulbs. I read somewhere they go dormant

You can leave the leaf to fall off naturally, or chop it off a little above the base, and continue normal care. If the roots are healthy, then it might grow back!

See the stump? My dog broke it clean off trying to chase a squirrel through the window back in January. With some love and a LOT of patience it will come back if the roots are healthy. I kept it in moist soil with a dome in a bright spot. Best of luck!

Thank you, I’m gonna put it in a dome under my grow light!

I cut mine back once and left for a week (I forgot to throw it out). Came home to a new leaf. Months later, she’s doing great!
