New to plants - I have a banana tree indoor with a growth lamp and good natural lighting - no direct sun. Planta has a suggested watering schedule. My question is: today is watering day but the moist gauge says the the pot is wet on the bottom moist in the middle and dry in the first 3 inches. Should I wanted it?

Hi! Usually with tropical plants you want to water after the first inch or two is dry. If the first 3 inches are bone dry I would say water it for sure.

Usually tropical plants like to say moist however, sometimes water meters aren’t accurate

From my experience, the app has me watering more often than is needed. I’ve killed a couple plants sticking to the apps water schedule and it always ended up that the roots were water logged. I used to use a moist gauge but I also stopped using that as it wasn’t always accurate. I just stick my finger in it to see how wet it is or if it’s a bigger pot I use a wooden skewer. hope that helps.

Thanks. The pot is really deep, like 22” deep.
